With only three of the irc3220's out my experience is limited. I rebuilt a fixing unit about 4 months ago using OEM parts and it was exasperating to say the least. Any tips would be much appreciated. It needs it again because of flat spots on the lower roller. Any Ideas about that? What may I have done wrong? Nip was adjusted per the manual.

They get flat spot. That is why I do most fusers in house.
You can adjust the time settings for how long it stays on but most customers want it ready all the time. There was a software update to cycle the fuser but customers even complain that it is running when not in use.
You can tell them why or replace the rollers. I just tell them why and that the machine will cycle at what ever you set it at in service mode. You will still get flat spots, but not as bad.

The main reason for my anxiety over that particular rebuild was due to the fact that I'm not officially trained on that model and the boss was on my ass to get it fixed quick and cheap. He has since learned the error of his way.
